During the Lent Season, a part of the Filipino tradition is not to eat meat during Fridays as penance and in recognition of the crucifixion of Jesus but it's really hard to find a restaurant in Manila that serves food without meat. Almost everything has either, beef or chicken unless you eat from a vegan restaurant. We landed in a restaurant in Malate. Bistro Remedios, they serve traditional Filipino cuisine. I must say it's really comforting.
